Uses

Benazepril is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Reducing hypertension helps in preventing stroke, heart attack and kidney problems. Benazepril is an ACE inhibitor and works by resting the blood vessels so that the blood flows more easily.

How to use Benazepril HCL

Directly take this medication by mouth or by your doctor at home without taking food, usually once or twice daily.
If you are using the suspension form of Benazepril, shake the bottle well before each dose. Measure the dose carefully using special measuring instruments / spoon. Do not use domestic spoon because you can not get the right dose.
Dosage is based on your medical condition and treatment response. For children, the dose is also based on weight.
Use Benazepril regularly so that it can get the most benefit. To help you remember, take it at the same time every day. It is important to continue taking this medicine even if you feel OK. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel sick.
You may take 1 to 2 weeks to get the full benefit of this drug. Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve or if it gets worse (such as your blood pressure reading is high or increased).

Side Effects

Precautions

Before taking Benazepril, tell your doctor or pharmacist whether you are allergic to it; Or other ACE inhibitors (such as lisinopril); Or if you have any other allergens. This product can have passive elements, which can cause allergic or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

Over Dose

Do not share this medication with others.

Missed Dose
