Alprazolam is used to treat anxiety and panic disorders. It is related to a class of drugs called benzodiazepines which creates a calming effect on the brain and nerves (central nervous system). It works by increasing the effect of a certain natural chemical (GABA) in the body.

How to Use Alprazolam

Before taking Alprazolam, read the medication guide given by your pharmacist and every time you receive a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Take this medication guided by your doctor. Dosage is based on your medical condition, age, and reaction to treatment. Your dose may increase gradually until the drug starts working well. Follow your doctor’s instructions closely to reduce the risk of side effects.
Alprazolam may be the reason for the withdrawal reaction, especially if it has been used regularly for a long time or in higher doses.
