Zolpidem Oral : Uses, Side Effects, Interactions

Zolpidem

Uses

Zolpidem is used in adults to treat a certain sleep problem (insomnia). If you have trouble falling asleep while sleeping, it helps you to sleep fast, so that you can get better night’s rest. Zolpidem is related to a class of drugs called sedative-hypnotic. It works to cause a calm effect on your brain.
This drug is usually limited to a short treatment period of 1 to 2 weeks or less.

How To Use Zolpidem TARTRATE

Read the medication guide, and, if available, your Pharmacist before starting Zolpidem, patient information sheet and each time you receive a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Take this medication an empty stomach from the mouth, as directed by your doctor, usually at night. Since zolpidem works quickly, take it properly before coming to bed. Do not take it with food or later because it will not work quickly.
Do not take a dose of this medicine, unless you have the time for at least 7 to 8 hours of complete sleep. If you have to wake up before that, then you may have some memory loss and there may be trouble in doing any activity that requires caution, such as driving or operating machinery. (See also the Precautions section.)
Dosage is based on the answer to your gender, age, medical condition, other medicines you take and treatment. Do not increase your dose, take it more often, or use it for longer than specified. Do not take more than 10 mg in a day. Women are usually prescribed a low dose because the medicine is removed more slowly than the men. Older adults are usually less dose determined to reduce the risk of side effects.
Zolpidem may be the reason for the withdrawal reaction, especially if it has been used regularly for a long time or in higher doses. If you suddenly stop using this medicine then in such cases, symptoms of withdrawal (such as nausea, vomiting, flushing, stomach cramps, panic, panic) can occur. To prevent withdrawal responses, your doctor may gradually reduce your dose. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more information, and immediately report any refund responses.
Although it helps many people, but this medicine can sometimes cause addiction. If you have any substance use disorder (such as drugs / alcohol excess or addiction) then this risk can be high. Take this medicine properly to reduce the risk of addiction. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
When Zolpidem is used for a long time, it can not work too. Talk to your doctor if this medicine stops working well.
Tell your doctor if your condition persists after 7 to 10 days, or if it worsens. Read More
