Zantac (Ranitidine) is used to cure stomach and intestinal ulcers and to prevent them from coming back after recovery. The use of this drug is also used for the treatment of stomach and throat (esophageal) problems (such as erosive esophagitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease-GERD, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome). It works by reducing the amount of acid produced in your stomach. It relieves symptoms like cough, which do not go away, stomachache, heartburn and difficulty swallowing. Zantacbelongs to a category of medicines known as H2 blockers.
How To Use Zantac
Directly take Zantac by mouth or by your doctor at the meal, usually daily or twice daily. This can be determined 4 times a day for some situations. If you are taking this medicine once a day, it is usually taken after the evening meal or before sleeping.
Measure the dose carefully using a measuring spoon or a special medication spoon available from your pharmacist. Do not use domestic spoon or you can not get the right dose.
The dose and length of treatment is based on your medical condition and medical reaction. In children, dose may also be based on body weight. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully. You can take other medicines (e.g, antacids) for your condition recommended by your doctor.
Take Zantac regularly so that it can get the most benefit. To help you remember, take it every day at the same time. Do not increase your dose or take it more than it has been fixed. Do not stop taking it without your doctor’s approval, as it can delay the treatment of ulcers.

Side Effects
