Zoloft (sertraline) is an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) prescribed antidepressant, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, posttraumatic disorder (PTSD), social anxiety disorder, and premenstrual disproportional disorder (PMDD) for the treatment of depression. Zoloft is available as a generic drug. Zoloft’s side effects include:
•  Constipation
•  Sleepiness
•  Stomach upset
•  Nervousness
•  Dizziness
•  Nausea
•  Skin rash
•  Sleep Problems (Insomnia)
•  Diarrhea
•  Tired feeling
•  Headache
•  Stomach pain
•  Difficulty having an orgasm
•  Change in appetite
•  Impotence
•  Lack of sex drive
•  Abnormal ejaculation
•  Dry mouth, and
•  Weight event
Tell your doctor if you have serious side effects of Zoloft, including:
•  Very hard (hard) muscles, high fever, sweating, confusion, sharp or uneven beating, feeling that you can get out;
•  Movement, hallucinations, fever, excessive active awareness, shocks;
•  Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, feeling instability, loss of coordination;
•  Difficulty concentrating, memory problems, weakness, unconsciousness, seizures, shallow breathing or breathlessness.
Zoloft’s dose depends on the condition of treatment. Zoloft Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDS) can interact with other medicines that work for you in sleep (such as cold or allergic medicine, sedative, narcotics, sleeping pills, muscle relaxant, and Drugs for seizures or anxiety), cimetidine, digoxin, linezolid, lithium, fentanyl, St. John’s wort, tramadol, 5-hydroxytryptophan, valproate, blood thinner, cough and so on. Cold medicines, other antidepressants, heart medications rhythm medications, or migraine headaches. Tell your doctor about all the medicines and supplements you use. The use ofzoloft during pregnancy can have adverse effects in the newborn. It is unknown if zoloft passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
