Pantoprazole

Uses

Pantoprazole is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux). It works by reducing the amount of acid produced in your stomach. This drug relieves heartburn, difficulty in swallowing, and frequent cough symptoms. It helps to heal the stomach and esophageal system, helps in preventing ulcers, and can help prevent esophagus cancers.Pantoprazole is related to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPI).

How To Use Pantoprazole SODIUM

Before taking pantoprazole, read the medication guide provided by your pharmacist and every time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Take Pantoprazole from mouth, as directed by your doctor, usually daily once daily. Dosage and length of treatment is based on the reaction of your medical condition and treatment.
If you are taking pills, you can take them with or without food. Swallow whole tablets. Do not let the medicine split, crush or chew. Due to this, the drug may be destroyed.
If you are taking the grain, take your dose 30 minutes before the meal. To take it from the mouth, open the packet and mix the granules in the apple or apple juice. Do not mix with other food items or liquids. Do not crush or chew the grains. Sprinkle the granules on 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of apples and immediately swallow all the mixture (within 10 minutes). Follow with the sip of water. Or you can mix granules with 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of apple juice in a small cup, stir for 5 seconds, and immediately swallow all the mixture. To make sure that you take a full dose, rinse the cup with one or two times the juice of apple to swallow any remaining grains and swallow the juice. Do not prepare the mixture prematurely for later use.
If you are giving the granule in the stomach (nasogastric or gastric tube) through a tube, ask your health care professional about detailed instructions on how to properly mix and how to do it.
If necessary, antacids can be taken with this medicine. If you are also taking sucralfate, then take pantoprazole at least 30 minutes before sucralfate.
Use Pantoprazole regularly to get the most benefit. To help you remember, take it every day at the same time. Continue taking this medicine for a fixed length of treatment, even if you are feeling better. Read More
