Ezetrol ( Ezetimibe) is used with the following cholesterol / low fat diet and helps lower blood cholesterol. Ezetrol can be used alone or with other medications (such as “statins” or fibrates). Ezetrol works by reducing the amount of cholesterol your body absorbs from your diet. Reducing cholesterol can help prevent stroke and heart attack.

How to use Ezetrol

If you start taking your Ezetrol and you receive a refill every time, then read the information leaflet available from your pharmacist. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Take this medicine guided by your doctor, usually once daily or without food.
Dosage is based on your medical condition and treatment response.
If bile acids are taking sequencer (such as cholestyramine, colestipol), then take asymmetry at least 2 hours or 4 hours after taking bile acid sequencer. These products can bind your body completely with the absorption of Ezetrol.
Take Ezetrol regularly to get the most benefit of this. To help you remember, take it every day at the same time.
It is important to continue taking this medicine even if you feel OK. Most people with high cholesterol do not feel sick. You can take up to 2 weeks before receiving the full benefit of this drug.

Side Effects

Remember that your doctor has prescribed this drug because he or she has decided that your benefit is higher than the risk of side effects. Many people using this drug do not have serious side effects.
Ezetrol can increase the risk of liver damage (when taken with a “statin”) or muscle damage occurs when a fibrate or “statin” is taken along.
